When it comes to destination weddings and Paris, we happily follow in the pioneering footsteps of our dear friends, Jenn and Neil.  Barely a month into our stay, our friends showed up, hung out all day and night by the Seine, and decided to get married.  (Well, actually, there was much prior planning but who wants to write about things like that?)  We met over cocktails and hors d’oeuvres at their favorite Parisian café, Le Petit Cardinal.  We feasted on pan-Asian chic dining at, of course, Asian, off the Champs-Élysées.  The whole entourage took a huge bus to the French countryside for a quaint and cozy ceremony at the Abbaye Royale de Chaalis.  Finally, everyone celebrated into the night with the newlyweds in an intimate, subterranean wine cave at Chantrerie Saint-Rieul, in Senlis.  All of this certainly set the bar pretty high for all the weddings to follow.

What remains through the ruins.  The chapel, where the wedding ceremony took place, as seen from the ruins of the former medieval Abbey of Chaalis.
